Welcome to the brain of Publ!c Domane. Below are answers to some of the most common (and uncommon) questions we get about our tufted rugs, process, shipping, and the overall madness of what we do. If it’s not here, you’re either a genius or overthinking it—either way, shoot us a message.

Tufting & Custom Rugs
What are your rugs made of?
A mix of quality yarns—primarily 100% acrylic for decorative pieces and higher-durability wool yarns for walking rugs. We test everything so your feet (or walls) get the royal treatment.
Do you make your rugs by hand?
Yes, but with a tufting gun, not a wand. Every rug is crafted by hand in-studio, not mass produced. The vibe is boutique, not big-box.
Can I request a custom rug?
Absolutely. Custom commissions are open. We do one 5x5’ (or equivalent) art piece per week, so spots are limited. You’ll want to be on that list early. Just CLICK HERE!
How much does a custom rug cost?
Prices vary based on size, detail, and material. Serious about getting started? Design consultations start at $20 and count toward your final total. Not quite ready or just need a ballpark? You can always get a quote for free HERE, no strings attached.
How much extra space do you leave for binding or edge finishing?
We typically leave 1–2 inches around the edge of your design for binding or serging—whichever finish suits the rug’s final form.
How long will it take you to finish the rug?
Typically 7-10 days, depending on the size, complexity, and caffeine levels in the studio. Longer for larger and more detailed pieces. Rush orders may be available for an extra fee (and a mutual understanding that sleep is optional).
What glues and backing do you use?
We use professional-grade rug adhesive, primary tufting cloth, mesh backing, and a non-slip felt or durable cotton backing, depending on the rug’s purpose. No hot glue guns were harmed in the making of your floor art.
How do I clean my rug?
Vacuum it gently (no beater bar, please), spot clean with a damp cloth and mild soap, rotate it every couple of months, and roll it up when storing. DO NOT fold, soak, scrub, leave in direct sunlight, put in the washer/dryer, or dry clean. For a deeper clean, professional rug cleaning is your best bet. Think of it like your favorite sweater—handle with care and it’ll stay fresh for the long haul.
How do I hang my rug on the wall?
There’s more than one way to elevate your tufted beauty: you can use command strips, Velcro, hanging rods, wood slats, or even frame it if you’re fancy. Just choose a method that supports the rug’s weight and thickness. We’re happy to add hanging hardware if you let us know ahead of time.

Shipping, Delivery & Handling
How will my rug be packaged?
With love, of course. But also in a protective wrap, sealed tight to prevent damage, and boxed for the journey. For larger rugs, we may roll and tube them to keep creases away.
Do you offer local pickup?
Not currently, unless we're selling at a pop-up or event. We’re shipping-only for now—unless you're trying to meet in a random parking lot (kidding... mostly).
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, worldwide except regions restricted by U.S. law which can be found HERE in the Legal / Export Restrictions section. If your country isn't on the checkout page, assume the State Department vetoed it.
How is shipping calculated?
Shipping rates are calculated automatically based on size, weight, and destination. In some cases, we also provide a flat rate and free shipping (at our discretion).
Do I get a tracking number?
Of course. You’ll get a tracking number the moment your rug is done, packed, and ready to hit the road.
Can I change my shipping address after I order?
If we haven’t shipped it yet—yes. If we have, your best bet is contacting the carrier directly. Either way, let us know ASAP HERE and we’ll do what we can.
Do you ship to PO Boxes?
Yes, most of the time. It depends on the size of the package and the carrier. If in doubt, give us a physical address just to be safe.
What if my rug arrives damaged?
We got you. Send us photos within 48 hours of delivery so we can assess and make it right. We want you thrilled, not thrashed.

Payments, Policies & Refunds
What payments do you accept?
All major credit/debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and local payment methods where applicable (e.g. Multibanco). See the full list HERE in the Accepted Payment Methods section. We don’t accept gold bars… yet.
Do you accept cash?
This one always comes right after the question above, so here’s the answer: No, we don’t accept cash. We love a crisp bill as much as anyone, but we’re a digital-first business. All transactions go through secure, trackable methods online. It’s 2025, after all.
Do you offer refunds or exchanges?
Because each piece is made to order, all sales are final unless damaged in transit. If there’s an issue, email us with photos and context—we’re human.
What’s your cancellation policy?
You can cancel within 24 hours of placing a custom order. After that, the yarn’s already flying.
Do you charge tax?
Yes, where legally required. If you’re in Texas (hi, neighbor), sales tax will be added automatically.

What’s with the name ‘Publ!c Domane’?
It's a reclaiming. A twist on the ordinary. A space where art, pop culture, and personal narrative meet the floor (or the wall).
Can I see your work in progress?
How can I hang them on the wall?
Command strips, Velcro, wood mounts, or a good old-fashioned hanging rod—whatever suits your vibe. We'll even pre-attach hanging hardware upon request. Elevate your art—literally.
What are they for?
Rugs? Sure. Wall art? Yep. Conversation starters? Absolutely. Whether it’s underfoot or over your couch, our tufted pieces are wherever-you-want-them-to-be statements.
Do you ever collab with other artists or brands?

How can I tuft my own?
Can I visit your studio?
Not yet—but maybe one day. For now, it’s a top-secret garage lab of yarn, caffeine, and creative chaos. Stay tuned for pop-ups or open studio days.
Will you ever teach a tufting class or workshop?
It’s on our radar. We love sharing what we know and are dreaming up ways to teach in-person or online. Drop us a line if you’d be into it—we’re building the waitlist.
Do you take wholesale or bulk orders?
It depends on the project, quantity, and timeline. Shoot us a message HERE with what you have in mind, and we’ll see if the stars align.

Do you offer gift cards?
